Kindness and Civility

Is civility a quality you value? Recently, driving through town, a billboard caught my eye:

“When push comes to shove, don’t!”
Civility begins with you.

Following up on this billboard sighting, I visited the website operated by The Foundation for a Better Life. According to the site, it is a non-profit dedicated to featuring statements of encouragement, empowerment, and dignity via billboards, posters, videos, and radio spots that can be found on their PassItOn.com website.

Wikipedia tells us, “Founded in 2000, it is headed by its president, Gary Dixon. The organization launched its first campaign on November 9, 2001. … The initial campaign appeared on about 10,000 billboards, signs and posters nationwide.”

I encourage you to take the time to go on their websites and check them out. There are inspiring and insightful messages posted which speak to me of the values I lift up in my Kindlandia blog.
