Inside Information about Dachshunds in Costumes: 1

I want to share some inside information with you about my forthcoming Tall Tales #3!
I went on an adventure with my third Tall Tales book, writing it in Anapestic Tetrameter, a poetic “unit” that adds rhyme and rhythm to my story, giving it a beat and tempo, making it easier to remember and more fun to read.
The poetic unit I mean is the “foot”—the basic building block of a poetic line. It is a unit of syllables in stressed and unstressed patterns. So the anapest is a foot. I know, I laugh, too. If you are curious, there is an entertaining video you can watch and learn all about feet in poems.

As the name indicates, my text consists of 4 anapests (each anapest has the pattern of two unstressed syllables followed by a stressed syllable) and the verse is written in tetrameter (4 anapests per line).
Familiar examples of this type of verse are Clement Clarke Moore’s “A Visit from St. Nicholas” from 1822.
“’Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.”
Also many of Dr. Seuss’s books, like The Cat in the Hat.
” ‘but i like to be here. oh, i like it a lot!’
said the cat in the hat to the fish in the pot.”
I hope you have a good time with the lilt and flow of my fresh style!
Thank you for reading, remember my book launch is coming, and do comment with your reaction to my Inside Information #1!
