6th School Reading 2020 in Los Cabos

We were graciously welcomed into the school by Clara Luna, Elementary School Director, and the Elementary Coordinator, Paola Romero.

This presentation of my third Tall Tale was held in the Delmar school library. The students were second and sixth graders. This was quite a wide spread in ages. Understandably, the younger class delighted more in the whimsical aspects of the tall tale while the older students grappled with the deeper layers of meaning.

The library itself is a very inviting place for reading, study, and gatherings. It offers open space and well-placed bookshelves where books are easily accessed and seen. A portion of the library is designated for gatherings with terraced step landings for the seating of the students. Stackable graduated cushions made a great back support and separated, provided more seats. Another corner of the library is appointed for small quiet games, puzzles, paper dolls, etc.

I remain enchanted with the wonderful murals on the walls, especially the painting of the book, The Little Prince. What an enticing welcoming space for students every day, as they study, read, and dream of the adventures that await them as they learn and grow!
